How to Mirror Your Smartphone to a Projector: A Complete Guide to Wireless and Wired Mirroring 2026

Aiden Tsang
📱 If you want to enjoy videos, photos, and games from your smartphone on a projector's big screen, there are two types of connection methods: wireless and wired. This article explains the simplest connection steps for both iPhone and Android.

Connection Method Comparison: Wireless vs. Wired

Item Wireless (Wi-Fi) Wired (HDMI)
Ease of Setup ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ No cables needed ⭐⭐⭐ Cables required
Video Stability ⭐⭐⭐ Depends on Wi-Fi environment ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Stable, no delay
Delay (Lag) △ Approximately 0.1-1 second delay ✅ Almost zero
Image Quality ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Compression present ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Uncompressed, high quality
Gaming Use △ Delay may be noticeable ✅ Recommended
Videos/Photos ✅ Sufficient ✅ Highest quality
💡 Wireless is sufficient for videos, photos, and presentations. For gaming and applications where delay is a concern, wired (HDMI) is recommended.

Wireless Mirroring Steps

For iPhone (AirPlay)

1
Connect the projector and iPhone to the same Wi-Fi network

Since Aestiquo P1 has Android TV built-in, connect it to the same network via Wi-Fi settings. Connect your iPhone to the same Wi-Fi network as well.

2
Enable AirPlay Receiver on P1

From the P1's Android TV home screen, go to "Settings" → "Remotes & Accessories" → turn "AirPlay" ON. Alternatively, install a compatible AirPlay app.

3
Select "Screen Mirroring" from iPhone's Control Center

Swipe down from the top right of your iPhone screen → select "Screen Mirroring" → select the projector's name → connection complete. Your iPhone screen will now be mirrored on the projector.

For Android (Miracast / Screencast)

1
Enable Miracast function on the projector

From the P1/Q1's settings menu, turn ON "Wireless Display" or "Miracast." Wi-Fi connection is not required (direct connection via Wi-Fi Direct).

2
Select "Screencast" from Android settings

Go to Android Settings → "Connected devices" (or "Connection") → "Screencast" or "Wireless Display" → select the projector's name → connection complete.

※The name may vary depending on the model (e.g., "Cast," "Mirroring," "Smart View").

Using the P1's Android TV app (Easiest Method)

Since Aestiquo P1 has Android TV built-in, it supports Google Chromecast built-in. You can directly send content from apps like YouTube, Netflix, and Google Photos on your Android smartphone to the projector by simply pressing the "Cast" button. This allows you to enjoy high-quality video without consuming your phone's battery.

Wired (HDMI) Connection Steps

Required Items
  • iPhone: Lightning to HDMI adapter (Apple genuine or MFi certified) + HDMI cable
  • Android (USB-C): USB-C to HDMI adapter (DisplayAlt Mode compatible) + HDMI cable
  • Android (Micro USB): MHL compatible adapter + HDMI cable (device-dependent)
1
Connect the adapter to your smartphone and connect it to the projector with an HDMI cable

Connect in the following order: smartphone → adapter → HDMI cable → projector's HDMI input port.

2
Switch the projector's input to HDMI

Press the "Source" button on the remote control and select HDMI input. Your smartphone screen will automatically appear on the projector.

3
Troubleshooting if it doesn't display

Check if the adapter supports DisplayAlt Mode (video output). Video will not be output with incompatible adapters. Try a different adapter or cable. For more details on HDMI connection issues, please refer to the HDMI Troubleshooting Guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I wirelessly mirror my iPhone to a projector?
Yes, if the projector supports AirPlay. Since Aestiquo P1 has Android TV built-in, you can enable wireless mirroring from an iPhone by installing an AirPlay app. The condition is that both devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
What if the video disconnects during wireless connection?
This occurs when the Wi-Fi signal is weak or there's a lot of interference. You can improve this by placing the projector and smartphone closer to the Wi-Fi router, using a 5GHz Wi-Fi band, or reducing other devices' Wi-Fi usage. If the issue persists, switch to a wired (HDMI) connection.
Can Netflix be mirrored via HDMI?
Due to HDCP copyright protection, Netflix may not be able to be mirrored via HDMI with some adapters. The most reliable and highest quality method is to directly install and use the Netflix app on the P1's Android TV.
Does the smartphone's screen orientation reflect on the projector?
When mirroring, the smartphone's screen orientation (portrait or landscape) is directly reflected on the projector. When watching videos, if you hold your smartphone horizontally, it will be displayed horizontally (widescreen) on the projector.
