What are DVD Region Codes?
DVDs are subject to a restriction called a region code. This is set by film studios to manage sales and distribution by region, and discs can only be played on players corresponding to that region code.
For example, a DVD purchased in the US (Region 1) typically cannot be played on a player intended for Japan (Region 2).

Troubleshooting for Overseas DVDs That Won't Play
① Check for dirt/scratches on the disc
DVDs brought back from overseas may get scratched or dirty during transport. Gently wipe the disc from the center outwards with a soft cloth before trying again.
② Check the disc format
In addition to video DVDs (DVD-Video), there are data DVDs (DVD-ROM), etc. Also, PAL format DVDs (Europe, Australia) may not play on NTSC format players (Japan, North America). Aestiquo products support both PAL/NTSC.
③ Check the disc's region code
