What are the symptoms of a broken DVD and coder?

Three major categories of malfunction symptoms

1. Read error (disk not recognized)

Symptom: When a disc is inserted, "No disc" or "Unreadable" message appears
Characteristics: Abnormal disc rotation noise (repeated fast forward/stop), stripes or freezes on the screen
Solution:
1. Wipe off fingerprints and scratches from the disc surface in a circumferential direction with a soft cloth.

3. After checking the operation with another disc, contact the manufacturer's support ( Panasonic official support ).

2. Power supply related issues

Symptoms: No response when pressing the power button, power light flashes and then goes off
Features: A beeping sound is heard when the power is turned on, and the device suddenly shuts down.
Solution:
1. Check that the power cord is properly inserted (both into the outlet and on the device)
2. Check the voltage of the power outlet using other appliances (check for power outages and the operation of the earth leakage breaker)
3. If the internal capacitors are likely to have deteriorated after long-term use, consider replacing them with new Aestiquo PD141s.

3. Format error (cannot record/play)

Symptoms: "Format Error" message appears during recording, recorded content is erased
Feature: HDD/SSD access lamp is always lit, "Data is corrupted" message is displayed during playback
Solution:
1. Check the disc finalization process (see Panasonic's official finalization guide )
2. Check disc compatibility (pay attention to differences such as DVD-RAM/DVD-RW)
3. Back up your important data and then perform a factory reset on your device (the "Factory Reset" option in the Settings menu)

Prevent breakdowns with routine maintenance

Use in an environment with a temperature of 25°C ± 5°C and humidity of 60% or less.
When not using the unit for an extended period of time, unplug the power cord and remove the disc before storing.
Clean the disc tray regularly (once a month).
To prevent damage caused by condensation, leave the unit for at least 30 minutes after moving it before turning it on ( for more information on preventing condensation, click here ).
