プロジェクターの点検が時々という事?

Do you need to check the projector from time to time?

Aestiquo offers a maintenance guide to help you maintain the long life and stable performance of your projector. Regular inspections are essential not only to prevent deterioration in image quality and malfunctions, but also to ensure you can enjoy the product's original performance for a long time. Especially with home projectors, it's easy to overlook the impact that changes in the daily usage environment can have on the device, but simple inspections can significantly improve its durability.

Why is regular inspection necessary?

Projectors are devices that precisely combine optical and electronic components. The lenses and heat dissipation systems in particular are easily affected by the environment in which they are used, and the accumulation of dirt and dust is the main cause of performance degradation.

The Aestiquo Q1 and P1 models are designed with a long LED light source life of 100,000 hours , assuming proper maintenance (see Aestiquo Q1 instruction manual).

In actual use, dust can cause poor heat dissipation, leading to premature deterioration of the light source and reduced image quality. Additionally, deterioration of the power cord and connection terminals can increase the risk of electric shock and fire.

According to a survey by the Japan Electrical Manufacturers' Association (JEMA), approximately 30% of breakdowns in household electrical appliances are caused by lack of maintenance ( https://www.jema.or.jp/guideline/maintenance/ ).

To avoid these risks, regular inspections are recommended.

Inspection frequency and basic procedures

The frequency of inspections will vary depending on the operating environment, but the following are general guidelines.

Inspection items Recommended frequency the purpose
Lens cleaning Once a month Removes fingerprints and dust while maintaining image quality
Duster cleaning of heat vents Once every two weeks Prevents poor heat dissipation and protects the light source
Visual inspection of the power cord Once a month Early detection of damage
Detailed inspection (image quality and mechanism) Once every six months Early detection of performance degradation and failures

Inspections should be conducted more frequently, especially in dusty rooms or when using the unit continuously for long periods of time.

Key points for visual inspection

  1. Lens Dirt <br>Check for fingerprints and dust. Aestiquo Q1 and P1 lenses have a special coating on the surface, but rubbing them with a dry cloth to remove dirt may cause scratches. The correct cleaning method is to apply a small amount of purified water to special lens cleaning paper and gently wipe the lens in a spiral motion (see page 17 of the Aestiquo P1 instruction manual).
  2. Dust in the heat vents <br>If the heat vents are clogged with dust, the internal temperature will rise, which may cause the automatic protection function to activate and the power to suddenly shut off. The Q1 has heat vents on the side and back, so please periodically remove dust with a compressed air duster.
  3. Damage to the power cord <br>Check that the cord's insulation is not peeling or that the plug is not discolored. If any damage is found, the cord must be replaced immediately. Aestiquo sells genuine power cords separately, so please contact us for details.

Detailed inspection procedure

The detailed inspection checks the following items. If necessary, you can watch the reference video on the Aestiquo support page ( Watch Maintenance Video ).

  1. Checking image quality <br>Display a test pattern and check for color unevenness or focus issues. On the Q1, you can reset contrast and brightness by going to "Settings" menu and selecting "Image Quality Adjustment."
  2. Focus and zoom mechanism <br>Check that the focus ring and zoom dial operate smoothly when turned. If they are stiff, you should apply a suitable lubricant, but we do not recommend that you do this yourself. Please consult a service center.
  3. Remote control battery <br>When the batteries are low, the operation will be slow or unresponsive. The Aestiquo remote control will display a battery symbol before the batteries run out, but we recommend replacing them regularly.

Early detection and troubleshooting of malfunctions

Important: If you notice any of the following symptoms during inspection, stop using the product immediately and contact support:

  • The power won't turn on .<br>Check the power cord connection and the status of the fuse. With the Q1 and P1, you can force a restart by pressing and holding the power button, but if this happens repeatedly, there may be an internal malfunction.
  • Distorted image <br>Check that the keystone correction function is working properly. Aestiquo 's automatic keystone correction allows for a correction of ±45 degrees, but manual adjustment is required for extreme installation angles (see page 22 of the Aestiquo Q1 instruction manual).
  • Abnormal noises are heard <br>This may be due to a faulty fan or a loose part. If you hear a particularly high-frequency whining noise, immediate action is required.

Precautions for long-term storage

If you will not be using the product for a period such as summer or a long holiday, please store it according to the following procedure.

  1. Unplug the power cord . Leaving it plugged in for a long period of time poses a risk of lightning surges.
  2. Attach the lens cap to prevent dust from getting in. For Aestiquo Q1 and P1 , use the included lens cap.
  3. Store in a dry place. Condensation in humid locations can cause internal components to rust. A storage temperature of 0°C to 40°C is recommended (see Aestiquo P1 instruction manual, page 25).

Summary: Regular inspections are an investment

Inspecting your projector is not just a chore, it's an investment in the longevity of your product. With proper maintenance, Aestiquo 's Q1 and P1 can achieve a long lifespan of over 10 years.
