What You Need for an Outdoor Cinema
✅ Camping Gear Checklist
- Projector (Aestiquo Q1 / X26 recommended)
- Power source: Portable power station or campsite AC power
- Screen alternative: White tent, tarp, or portable screen
- Content: DVD player, Fire TV Stick, or smartphone mirroring
- Sound: Bluetooth speaker (built-in speaker also acceptable)
- Insect repellent: Insect repellent spray, mosquito coils
Choosing a Setup Location
Utilize tents and tarps
Project onto the outer wall of a white tent or a tarp. Easily achieve a large screen without a dedicated screen. A taut tarp reduces image distortion.
Hang a screen between trees
Secure a white sheet or portable screen to trees with rope. At a distance of 2-3m, you can get an 80-100 inch large screen.
Project onto a car body
If your car is white or silver, you can project directly onto the car body. This style utilizes the campsite's parking space.
Setup Procedure
Determine projection surface and distance
Choose your projection surface from a tent, tarp, or screen, and set the projector distance to 1.5-3m. The Q1 and X26 can project approximately 60 inches at 1.5m and 120 inches at 3m.
Place the projector on a stable surface
Place it on a stable surface such as a camping table, tripod, or directly on the ground. Adjust the angle freely with the X26's 180° rotating stand or the Q1's 270° rotating stand.
Connect the power
Connect to a portable power station (AC output compatible) or the campsite's AC power. Since the Q1 and X26 consume approximately 38-50W, a portable power station with a capacity of 200Wh or more allows for 3-4 hours of movie viewing.
Adjust focus and keystone correction
Turn on the power and adjust the focus. The X26 has electric focus controllable by remote. Adjust keystone correction to make the image rectangular. For more details, refer to the Keystone Correction Guide.
Connect and play content
Select content from a DVD player (HDMI connection), Fire TV Stick (HDMI connection), or smartphone mirroring. Since campsites often lack Wi-Fi, DVDs or pre-downloaded content are reliable options.
Enhance sound with a Bluetooth speaker
The Q1 supports Bluetooth 5.3 and the X26 supports Bluetooth 5.3. Connect to an outdoor waterproof speaker to enjoy powerful sound outdoors.
Tips for Outdoor Viewing
🌙 Best viewing time is 30 minutes after sunset
The darker your surroundings, the clearer the image will be when projected outdoors. The period from 30 minutes to an hour after sunset offers the best balance of visibility and temperature. Even with the Q1/X26's high brightness design, viewing in complete darkness provides the most beautiful experience.
🦟 Don't forget insect repellent
Insects tend to gather around projector lights, so insect repellent is essential. In addition to mosquito coils and insect repellent spray, placing insect repellent lanterns around the projector is effective.
🔋 Choosing a portable power station
| Capacity | Estimated runtime | Recommended use |
|---|---|---|
| 200Wh | Approx. 3-4 hours | 1-2 movies, short camping trips |
| 500Wh | Approx. 8-10 hours | Overnight camping, multiple devices simultaneously |
| 1000Wh or more | All-day use | 2+ night camping, group camping |
